Africa’s premier air route development conference Aviadev Africa has been moved to June 2021. Aviadev is dedicated to growing connectivity to, from and within the African continent. Launched in 2016 the event has grown to be the leading aviation development conference in Africa.
In a statement posted on their website, Aviadev said “As a result of the international outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) we have taken the decision to postpone AviaDev Africa until 9-11 June 2021. The wellbeing of our attendees is of great importance and we feel that it is the best interest of our regional and international participants to reconvene when the situation has improved, and travel restrictions have eased”.
“Due to the on-going impact of the covid-19 pandemic we’ve been forced to postpone Aviadev Africa” Jon Howell Aviadev Africa Founder and CEO
Last year, the conference was held in Cape Town and was attended by almost 300 aviation professionals from Africa and beyond. The highlight of the event was the surprise display of a brand new Uganda Airlines Dash8-400 aircraft at a cocktail event.
Speaking recently in a video on a social network, Jon Howell Founder and CEO of AviaDev said “Due to the on-going impact of the covid-19 pandemic we’ve been forced to postpone Aviadev Africa from this year to the 9-11 June 2021”.
After thanking the sponsors and hosts Ravinala Airports, Howell took the moment to announce a virtual conference. “In the meantime we will continue our commitment to serve the industry starting with the first virtual conference for aviation and tourism and hospitality, Africa Tomorrow which is free to register for all African participants”.
