Tanzania lifts international travel suspension

John Magufuli the President of Tanzania recently declared the country to be Covid19-free. This declaration led to the opening of the economy by the Southern African country. The airspaces for both Tanzania and Zanzibar have also been open.

Local and international airlines announced plans to resume services. Domestic airlines Precision Air, Auric Air and Air Tanzania have all from 16 June commenced flights to various domestic destinations.

On the first of June, African giant; Ethiopian Airlines returned to Kilimanjaro Airport in the city of Arusha. International airlines including Emirates, Turkish, FlyDubai and Qatar Airways have announced resumption of service to Tanzania starting mid-June to early July.

In a tweet posted on their page, Qatar Airways announced resumption of flights between Doha and Dar es Salaam from 16 June 2020.  The tweet reads “Qatar Airways is reinstating flights to Tanzania’s Capital today, operating a three times weekly service. Enjoy its beaches, markets and historic buildings this summer”.
