RwandAir (WB) will resume domestic and international service from 01 August 2020. The East African airline has been grounded for almost three months due to travel restrictions as a result of the Covid19 pandemic.
This comes after the Airports Company of Rwanda had announced that it will reopen its airports on 01 August 2020. RwandAir said it will resume services to Dubai and a select of African cities that have opened up.
“RwandAir will resume flights on 1 August 2020 starting with select African routes where borders are open, as well as Dubai” said the airline in a tweet. The airline has been conducting test flights in recent days of their fleet that had been grounded.
During the lockdown period RwandAir has been operating medical and commercial cargo flights from Europe and the Far East. SW also conducted some repatriation flights around the East African region.
Passengers arriving and transiting via Kigali will have to undergo new health requirements put in place by the airports company and health officials. These measures include production of a negative Covid19 test result done within the past 72hours, wearing of a mask and Covid19 among others.
