Fastjet Zimbabwe (FN) has announced the suspension of all flights across its schedule to 31 August 2020.
In statement released by the airline, Fastjet said this decision was taken following updates from both the Zimbabwean and South African governments. The statement reads: “Fastjet Zimbabwe has today announced that flights across the airline’s scheduled network shall be further suspended up to and including Monday, 31 August 2020. This decision was made following the latest updates from the respective Government Agencies in Zimbabwe and South Africa, and as part of the airline’s continual support of the measures and restrictions regarding flight operations in these countries.”
The value-based airline added, “The airline reaffirms its commitment to customers and the travel trade, in which they confirm their intention to reinstate flights at the earliest opportunity subject to the lifting of restrictions and in accordance with the resultant demand.”
Like most airlines during this period, fastjet has extended its flexible booking change policy with no fees and fare difference differences applicable until the end of November 2020.
During the lockdown period fastjet has performed a number of repatriation flights between Harare and Johannesburg. Fastjet operates both domestic and regional routes from its Harare hub.
