TAAG Angola Airlines (DT), the national carrier of Angola has taken delivery of the second Dash 8-400 named Zaire.
The delivery is part of the 6 Dash8-400s ordered by the airline at the 2019 Paris Airshow. In June 2020 DT took delivery of the first Dash8-400 named Kwanza with a new livery.
TAAG Angola (DT) said on their website “As part of the process of modernization and renewal of its fleet, TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola SA hereby announces that it has acquired six (6) Dash 8-400s aircraft.”
Rui Carreira, CEO of TAAG Angola said, “TAAG is looking to the future of our fleet and the market opportunities where the Dash 8-400 aircraft will be an important part of our growth strategy. The acquisition of these new aircraft is important to support a stronger domestic network and support our regional and international network.”
Sameer Adam, Regional Vice President Sales Europe, Russia, CIS, Middle East and Africa said “As airlines continue exploring efficiencies during a slow market recovery, De Havilland Canada has delivered another Dash 8-400 to TAAG Angola Airlines. The airline is poised to restart operations when their skies reopen and the Dash8 will be a critical tool in contributing to lowering operational costs, stimulating market development, and reducing the airline’s carbon footprint against larger jets that are not sustainable in these times”.
