Air Namibia (SW) has suspended all domestic flights with immediate effect after 7 members of staff tested positive for the Coronavirus.
In a statement Air Namibia said: “We hereby inform the nation that Air Namibia has registered 7 positive Covid19 cases. In response to this development, our Head Office and ECD Building will be temporarily closed for disinfection and Staff quarantine effective, Friday 21 August 2020 until Friday, 28 August 2020”.
Namibia was recently placed on Level 3 lockdown after the country recorded an increase in the number of infections of the coronavirus.
“The airline will resume operations on Monday, 31 August 2020” the airline added.
Air Namibia prior to the lockdown has been operating domestic flights for both passengers and cargo from its Windhoek hub to several destinations within the country.
