Ethiopian Airlines (ET) has announced the resumption of commercial flights between Addis Ababa and Windhoek effective 11 September 2020.
Namibia announced to reopening of its international borders to commercial flights for only tourism travel purposes.
In a statement the airline said it is resuming flights to and from Windhoek in supports of the country’s tourism revival initiative.
“The Ministry of Environment, Tourism and Forestry recently announced the reopening of the Namibian borders from the 1st of September 2020, as part of the Tourism Revival Initiative, it is with this background that Ethiopian Airlines will resume its commercial flights and cargo operations to/from Windhoek from 11 September 2020.”
Namibia announced a raft of measures aimed at stimulating the country’s tourism industry and curtailing the virus. Arriving passengers will be required to provide negative PCR result carried within the past 72 hours. All arriving passengers will undergo a mandatory temperature check upon arrival.
