Mauritius will reopen the borders in October 2020 for international travel.
Pravind Jugnauth the Prime Minister of the island nation announced a phased reopening of the Mauritian borders for international effective October.
Currently only repatriation flights are permitted and these will continue until the end of September 2020. From October, commercial flights will resume to a select destinations.
Mauritius flag carrier Air Mauritius earlier in the year was placed under administration after flying on fumes over the years. During the lockdown the airline performed a number of repatriation and medical cargo flights to the island nation.
