Ghana’s private airline Africa World Airlines (AW) will from 11 September resume international flights across the West Africa region.
The airline will re-launch flights to 5 cities across West Africa. From its Accra hub, AWA will resume flights to two Nigerian cities of Lagos and Abuja from 11 and 12 September. On the 13th of September it will expand its international network to Freetown and Monrovia while Abidjan will be introduced on the 15th of September. Frequencies will initially range between three and five times a week.
All flights will be operated under new health protocols. Passengers will be required to present a negative PCR test result not older than 72 hours and wear a face mask during the entire airport and flight process.
Sean Mendis the Chief Operations Officer of the airline added, “We are pleased to restart our key regional connections from 11th September under enhanced safety protocols.”
