Uganda will reopen Entebbe International Airport for international travel from the first of October.
This comes after months of the suspension of commercial international travel in the wake of the Coronavirus.
The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority announced this development in a letter to stakeholders in the Ugandan aviation industry.
According to a circular published by Al-Hajj Eng.Sooma Ayub the Director Airports and Aviation Security for UCAA, the authority published the schedule of flights to and from Entebbe International “Please find attached a tentative schedule for Phase 1 of international passenger flights to Entebbe International Airport for three months effective October 1,2020”.
UCAA released a flight schedule for both regional and international flights with reduced frequencies. Phase 1 is scheduled to run until the end of December 2020.
The reopening of EBB is good news for Uganda Airlines, the country’s flag carrier who recently celebrated a year’s anniversary. Uganda Airlines in its first year of operation carried 75 000passengers across its next work and in December will take delivery of an Airbus A330-800 for international service.
